Sukie is an adorable 1.5 year old female Catahoula (unconfirmed with no purebred registration) who is looking for a home. She is described as smart, insanely energetic, faithful, assertive with other dogs she always has to be the boss, hunting instinct..etc. Sukie is super athletic, but also a big sook who loves cuddles. She loves human company and playing chase with dogs (although she can be rough). Sukie is not suitable for life with small kids or other small animals. She runs on the treadmill, next to the bike and next to me when I am jogging.

She loves the beach and bush walks. She is also great at swimming and she loves the car and she loves running and leaping over things. After a bath, she will run around and jump over anything, pavements, bushes, people (provided they are bending over). She also likes to talk in the morning, currently she sleeps in a kennel outside, but she is used to being inside and is toilet trained.

Sukie is a bit of a vaccuum in the kitchen, she will eat anything!! bananana, broccoli, porridge.. basically anything.. and is great with training because she loves treats. She knows the words, sit, wait, drop (lie down), roll over, shake, bang (play dead), kisses, inside, outside, toilet, over, up. Alright is her release word. She is super smart, and she knows when she can get away with things, but she loves learning new things. Sukie needs a calm experienced dog owner, because she is a very clever girl and requires daily mental and physical stimulation.

Sukie is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed and available from the Sydney area.

Cyclone Yasi thoughts and prayers

Please keep the residents of Northern Queensland in your thoughts and prayers for the next 48 hours. Cyclone Yasi, a Category 5 cyclone that is said to be the most threatening cyclone in Australia since 1918 and also said to rival Hurricane Katrina, is due to cross the coast in approximately 6 hours time. It is 500km wide with a 100km wide eye and winds expected around 300km/hr. After the recent flooding in Queensland, Cyclone Anthony a couple of days ago, and now Cyclone Yasi, Queensland residents are one tough bunch. Please keep Northern Queensland in your thoughts and prayers tonight.

(We are on the northern end of the Gold Coast in South-east Queensland and have not been affected by any of these three events. Thankyou so much to all of our Catahoula friends for your concern).

Queensland floods

We would just like to say thankyou to all of our owners and even strangers who have expressed their concern for us in recent weeks. Fortunately we were spared flooding in January’s terrible events as we are located on the Northern end of the Gold Coast.

The response of Australians and those across the world has been overwhelming and much progress has been made in recovering and repairing from the disaster across Queensland. However, there is still a long way to go. We have received no reports of Catahoulas being victims to this disaster although there are many other animals of all shapes and sizes and people aswell who still need your support and assistance.

If you would like to help please consider making a monetary donation to any of the following organisations:

www.littlepawskittenrescue.com.au Little Paws is a volunteer organisation that are currently in the process of organising accommodation for a large number of flood victim cats currently in pounds and at risk of euthanasia. They urgently need funds for this mass undertaking.

www.rspca.org.au Australia’s RSPCA shelter at Fairfield was devastated in the floods and they urgently need funds to repair their facilities and continue providing their essential services.

www.brisbanevalleycatrescue.com The Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue are at capacity and need funds to continue providing help.

Currant’s Bella is our darling little girl who we are very reluctantly looking for a home for her to be a part of.

Bella is one of our original pups from Oak Run’s Cayo Conch semen insemination and Auscat’s Mini.

She is being sold as a pet and we will be VERY selective about the home that she goes to.

Currant’s Jet doin it big in the cape

Last year Currant’s Jet (from Oak Run’s Cayo Conch line) left us and headed off with Mick to the Cape where he lives and works to hunt 3-4 times a week. Having lost Currant’s Earl (pictured) to a snake bite last year, Mick was keen for another Currant Cat and a companion for Currant’s Joy who was missing her best mate.

So far, Jet has been coming along well and is finding boars by himself. Mick’s hoping that if Jet is half as good as Earl was, then he’ll still be a fantastic dog.

Gypsy has a new home

Currant’s Gypsy has been rehomed into a wonderful family in Western Australia where she will enjoy playing with kids and other dogs, pigging and being thoroughly spoilt. We will miss her but we wish her well.
