Cyclone Yasi thoughts and prayers

February 2nd, 2011

Cyclone YasiPlease keep the residents of Northern Queensland in your thoughts and prayers for the next 48 hours.  Cyclone Yasi, a Category 5 cyclone that is said to be the most threatening cyclone in Australia since 1918 and also said to rival Hurricane Katrina, is due to cross the coast in approximately 6 hours time.  It is 500km wide with a 100km wide eye and winds expected around 300km/hr.  After the recent flooding in Queensland, Cyclone Anthony a couple of days ago, and now Cyclone Yasi, Queensland residents are one tough bunch.  Please keep Northern Queensland in your thoughts and prayers tonight.

(We are on the northern end of the Gold Coast in South-east Queensland and have not been affected by any of these three events.  Thankyou so much to all of our Catahoula friends for your concern).
